The African and Caribbean Mental Health Services (ACMHS) is a voluntary charitable organisation that provides support to African and African Caribbean people with mental health problems who are aged between 18 and 65 years and living in the Manchester and Trafford areas.
The ACMHS offers a wide variety of services to service users, carers, families, other voluntary and statutory organisations as well as the community as a who. This varies from casework input, advocating, drop-ins to education and employment. We believe strongly in the use of complimentary therapies like counselling, befriending, aromatherapy, and other sporting and leisure activities alongside medical model in the treatment of mental health problems.
ACMHS also has a PCMHT working with people 16 - 65 years old living in Manchester and who have common mental health problems ie: depression, anxiety, relationship problems and low self esteem.
