The centre offers a service to adults who have been raped or sexually assaulted, usually on the one occasion and usually by a non-family member.Unfortunately we cannot offer a service to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
To adults we offer a forensic medical examination service (which can be accessed via police involvement or as a self-referral), pregnancy testing, emergency contraception, information on STI screening, telephone support and one to one counselling and other support (such as supporting a client whilst giving a statement to the police or attending court) to anyone who has been raped or sexually assaulted.
We do not offer a drop in service, so service users are advised to phone us first.
For children we offer a forensic medical examination service and counselling, but only for children aged between around 12yrs upwards at present.
The children's side of our service is in the development phase and is a 3 phase project, the first being an examination space, which was opened in February 2006, then we will be opening a video interview suite to be used by the Police and the 3rd phase of offering therapy to all children.
