Platt Fields Park, Wilmslow Rd, Fallowfield, Manchester M14 6LA FREE
Feast! is back for another year and we would like to invite you all to join us with your picnic over the weekend in Platt Fields Park, Manchester. This year we have extended the programme to cover two long summer evenings on Friday and Saturday, and Sunday afternoon. You bring yourselves and your picnic, we provide the entertainment... and it's all free!
Feast! is an opportunity for local groups, friends and families to come to Platt Fields Park to picnic around the lakeside. We will provide outdoor theatre, circus, strolling musicians, magic, games and activities, with the opportunity for you to participate as well. All producing a wonderful day, evening or weekend out. And on the Sunday the entertainment will be provided by Exodus, and feature performance and activities by the many refuygee communities who have made Manchester their home.
Last year 4,000 people came out for the evening, bringing food, lanterns, decorating their picnic areas and creating an extraordinary setting for the entertainment we provided. And we hope that this year it will be even better! There is a bigger programme of events this year, finishing with a finale on the Friday and Saturday nights, both definitely worth coming to see.
Why not add to the weekend yourself! Bring whatever you want to enhance the atmosphere; your skills and talents make the event! Use your artistic and creative talents, bring decorations, teepees, create grottos, wear fancy dress, do magic, tell stories, poetry, play music, whatever you want, try to make your picnic area an attraction for others. Or, why not just come along to see all the exciting things that will be going on. There will be tables and chairs, and of course the beautiful park to sit in, and plenty of food available to buy, we just want to see you there.
"Thanks for your latest extravaganza. Magical as ever [our children] aged 3, were bewitched, wide awake last night with the wonder of the Feast."
